About the Author

Hi, I’m Michelle. I’m a mother of 3 children. Two were born with tongue tie, and my youngest child is currently waiting for speech therapy, which led me to try to find out more about speech therapy and how best to support a child at home. Whilst I’m not a speech therapist or linguistics professional myself, as a child I received speech therapy, and I still remember some of the word games I played and how much improvement I made! I know that speech and language practioners do a very valuable job, but that the wait to get help can be fairly long, depending on where you live.

This site is created from a parent’s perspective and shares researched advice on ways to support a child to improve their speech at home (disclaimer: the author of this website is a researcher sharing relevant topics on this subject and not a trained speech therapist, expert or doctor. Any medical advice needed should be sought from your own doctor or a trained speech therapist or medical practioner. The author does not suggest this website should take the place of any professional help or advice and is designed to act as an initial reference point).
